The Pack contains associated resources for the learning experience, typically in the form of articles and videos. There is a teacher Pack (with only teacher information) and a student Pack (which contains only student information). As a teacher, you can toggle between both to see everything.
Here are the teacher pack items for The Expansion of the Texas Frontier and the American Indian:
Overview In this experience, students learn about the role of Buffalo Soldiers and how they protected the settlers from the American Indians. They learn about a Comanche leader, Quanah Parker, and how he led the Comanches into battles. Finally, they learn about the western expansion through Texas and how it affected the settlers and many American Indian tribes, and they suggest a plan for handling the issues that arose. Objectives:
Right after the Civil War, American Indians controlled the majority of western Texas. The Native Americans banded together to raid settlements, and the armies there could not fight them off. There was a great deal of conflict and tension between the two groups.
The settlers soon became stronger and began fighting back. The Native Americans began losing battles, men, and land. In this experience, you will learn about the western expansion of Texas.
Objectives:
Think about the word “expansion.” Post a synonym or definition in a word or short phrase. To list multiple items, separate them with a comma, like this: pie, cookie.
