The Pack contains associated resources for the learning experience, typically in the form of articles and videos. There is a teacher Pack (with only teacher information) and a student Pack (which contains only student information). As a teacher, you can toggle between both to see everything.
Here are the teacher pack items for Regions of Texas: Coastal Plains and North Central Plains:
In this experience, students learn about the geography of the Coastal Plains and North Central Plains. They identify cities, industries, climate, and natural resources that define the two regions. They explain why the regions are broken into subregions. Finally, they create an infographic about one of the regions. Note that the other two regions of Texas are covered in the experience Regions of Texas: Great Plains and Mountains & Basins. This experience includes an optional video in the teacher pack that you may choose to project for the class. Objectives:
A physical region is an area that shares common natural characteristics. Geographers use different systems to divide the United States into regions. Texas is commonly divided into four physical regions: the Coastal Plains, the North Central Plains, the Great Plains, and the Mountains and Basins. These regions are identified by characteristics such as landforms, climate, and vegetation, which means the plants that grow in an area. In this experience, you will learn about the Coastal Plains and the North Central Plains.
Objectives:
Look at the map of the four regions, and locate the general position of your hometown. In which region do you think it is located?
Based on the map, what prediction can you make about the landforms, climate, or vegetation of the Coastal Plains and the North Central Plains? Make a prediction for each region in the table below.
