The Pack contains associated resources for the learning experience, typically in the form of articles and videos. There is a teacher Pack (with only teacher information) and a student Pack (which contains only student information). As a teacher, you can toggle between both to see everything.
Here are the teacher pack items for Generating Inquiry Questions:
Overview In this experience, students work in groups to generate questions on a topic to gather information for a research project. They learn about the 5Ws, fact trees, and how to make their questions specific to clarify the results they seek. They differentiate between informal and formal inquiries. Students will work in small groups in Scenes 3 and 4. Note that in this experience, “Generating Inquiry Questions,” students write questions that could serve for formal and informal inquiries based on passages containing information about George Washington. In the complementary experience, “Finding Information,” students conduct research to answer questions about that same subject. Each experience can stand alone, but they are designed to work together. Objectives Duration One class period. Vocabulary Used in Passages
Consider this scenario: you want to ride your bike to a friend’s new house. You ask “How do I get there?” The friend answers, “By car.” To get the right answer, you have to ask the right question. In this experience, you will learn how to generate inquiry questions that will help you find relevant information.
