Objective:

  • Summarize the events that led to the end of Reconstruction.

As the 1870’s came to a close, problems still plagued the South. After more than ten years, Reconstruction had failed to resolve many of the challenges that had faced the South at the end of the Civil War. This hopeful era of emancipation and reunification would soon come to an end without having accomplished what it had intended to.
