In this experience, students are introduced to the physical geography of China and create a geographical passport for the country. Then they view a series of maps that compares China to Taiwan and Mongolia. Finally, students research either Taiwan or Mongolia to learn more about one of those countries and describe a place they would like to visit and why. Objectives:Overview:
Nearly as large as the United States, China has a wide range of landscapes that include the tallest mountain in the world and the third largest river in the world. In this experience, you’ll discover some of these physical features of China—and of two nearby countries, Taiwan and Mongolia.

What do these sounds reveal to you about the country of China?
Answers will vary. Students will likely note that the country is large, diverse, urban, rural, many religions, etc.
